May is the busiest month for irrigation service. You're going to be visiting a lot of customers in the weeks ahead. How can you make the most of every service call?
Communicate. Call the customer when you're on the way to the property. E-mail customers reminders of their service appointments and automatic notifications when the work has been completed. Many of the top contractor software packages make these notifications easy.
Be thorough. Don't rush through spring irrigation inspections. Don't shortchange your customer or yourself. Identify problems that need to be resolved so the customer's system performs well for the whole season.
Make a note. Keep a record of enhancements that can be implemented later in the year when you're less busy. List components nearing the end of their useful life as many customers prefer to replace them before they fail. Note other services you offer that the customer might need this season.
Sell yourself. Avoid the customer who says "we didn't know you offered _____ service". Create a flyer that summarizes your services and leave it with the customer at the end of every site visit. It will be your best and least-expensive marketing tool.

Gravel-Free Dry Well Saves Time and Money
The Flo-Well has been helping contractors cut their labor costs and time on the job for over 10 years.
The Flo-Well is a manufactured drywell that can replace traditional gravel-only dry wells when used with the NDS aggregate only EZflow bundles which replace gravel in a common Flo-Well installation.
If EZflow is not available, a 3" layer of gravel should be poured around the diameter of the product to ensure void space exists. Flo-Well can be piped to other Flo-Wells creating a larger water management capacity - each FloWell can handle up to 55 gallons of water.
You can also pipe to and from a Flo-Well using SDR or Corrugated pipe ranging in size from 3" up to 8". Flo-Well also has an optional riser with a grate that allows water to flow directly into the Flo-Well to correct low spots in the yard or other drainage problems.
