Smart to Sell During Service Calls: Toro's Precision Soil Sensor

Toro's new Precision Soil Sensor adds easily to existing systems to make them extremely water efficient.

There are two components to the Precision™ Soil Sensor system - a receiver that hooks up to the irrigation controller and a sensor that installs in the ground. Once installed, the sensor calibrates itself automatically to determine the soil type. Any time the moisture level exceeds the user-defined optimum level for the plant material, the controller is prevented from running any irrigation programs. This prevents unneeded watering and provides the possibility for significant water savings.

Wireless Technology Means No Digging Required

Communication between the sensor probe and the receiver is completely wireless, with an operating range of up to 500 feet. Installation doesn't require any digging so the soil is left undisturbed, allowing the sensor to take accurate moisture readings starting as soon as it's put in the ground.

Universal Installation Makes for Easy Retrofit Opportunities

The Precision™ Soil Sensor will work with almost any irrigation controller so you can easily turn any controller into an extremely accurate smart controller in just a few minutes.

Putting Google+ Local to Work for You

Where is the nearest Starbucks?

What time does the office supply store close?

Where can I buy a handle for Moen faucet?

These are all questions being commonly answered by Google+ Local, which combines the power of Google Map technology with up-to-date profiles of local businesses.

Every business that sells products or services needs to have an updated profile on Google+ Local. As a business owner or manager, you're responsible for updating the information. There's no cost to update and enhance your profile.

Why is this important? You may have noticed that Google has begun to favor local results more often for many web searches. About a year ago, Google moved up the relevancy of local results above traditional organic search results. Search for "irrigation contractors in St. Louis" and you get a map with pinpoint locations of nearby firms. Want to show up or be ranked higher in your area? Update your Google Local listing.
